Cygnet Law has invested in the workforce of the future with the recruitment of an Apprentice Legal Assistant.

Capri who is 17 is the youngest Cilex Member to undertake the training course. She entered the apprenticeship route using drive and passion for the legal sector. She is gaining hands-on practical experience at Cygnet Law while also continuing her education by attending Bede Six Form College on a day release basis.

Her role at the firm involves assisting  our busy Public Law Department  in preparing court bundles in readiness for court hearings, collating  evidence, and general administration support.

Peter Medd, Cygnet Law Managing Director, said: “It is important that the legal sector attracts keen, committed young people in to the profession to ensure a future generation of appropriately skilled employees.

“An apprenticeship, which bridges the gap between school and business, is an ideal way of equipping a novice member of staff, in a role such as Capri’s, with the knowledge to help keep Cygnet Law operating in an effective and efficient manner for the benefit of its clients.”

“Capri is proving to be a diligent employee and we look forward to her progressing and developing within the business as she amasses both practical and theoretical experience

Capri said: “I opted for an apprenticeship because it is the best of both worlds as you get hands-on practical experience and the benefit of qualifications at the same time.”

“I am proud to have been recruited by Cygnet, which has a reputation throughout the Tees Valley as being a leader in its field.”
