Stories of Impact — Changing Lives, One Conversation at a Time
We meet people facing all sorts of challenges, and often, they simply don’t know where to start. Sometimes, people just need to know they’re not alone. A bit of guidance, reassurance, and a listening ear can lift an enormous weight.
Every week, our team offers free 30-minute consultations and runs community drop-in sessions in Loftus, Middlesbrough, and Whitby. It’s amazing how much difference a short chat with a lawyer can make. We often meet people feeling lost, and after speaking with us, they leave with a plan. That’s the true power of pro bono.
We’ve helped families find resolution during difficult times, supported victims of domestic abuse to find safety, and worked alongside local charities that are on the frontlines every day.
Why Pro Bono Is a Win-Win
Pro bono work doesn’t just benefit our clients; it helps us grow too.
It gives our team the chance to develop new skills, build confidence in unfamiliar areas, and connect more deeply with the people we support. It’s also an incredible way for trainees and newly qualified solicitors to gain hands-on experience while doing something genuinely meaningful.
It strengthens our culture as well. When everyone in the firm shares the same purpose to make a difference, that shared commitment becomes part of who we are.
Getting Involved — How We’re Growing Our Pro Bono Work
At Cygnet Law, pro bono isn’t something we only talk about once a year; it’s part of who we are. We’ve been proud to support our local communities for many years through our free legal advice drop-ins, community partnerships, and volunteering our time to those who need it most.
We’re also honoured to be featured on the Pro Bono Recognition List, a national initiative celebrating law firms and lawyers who go above and beyond to provide free legal help to individuals and charities. It’s a milestone we’re proud of, but also a reminder that there’s always more we can do.
