We are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic legal cashier, to join our team in our busy office in Redcar. Candidates wishing to apply must have both experience and knowledge of  all accounting and bookkeeping duties within a law firm and a clear understanding of the SRA account rules.

Key Tasks

  • Bookkeeping and accounts maintenance in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules, Quality Procedures Manual, LSC Contract and Lexcel requirements.
  • Sage payroll an advantage but training will be given
  • Banking including reconciliation in accordance with solicitors accounts rules
  • Debt Management/Collection
  • Maintenance of the firm’s petty cash system
  • Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm

Role Responsibilities

You will ensure compliance with the SAR, Money Laundering Regulations and VAT requirements in all aspects of the role, Adhere to Cyber Security and being vigilant at all times, monitoring and processing incoming and outgoing receipts and payments using online banking software, bill processing, daily banking, daily reconciliation of bank accounts, distribution and reconciliation of petty cash and have a good understanding of client matter ledgers. You will be comfortable with processing firms’ expenditure, processing purchase ledger invoices and payments, dealing with supplier queries and liaising with fee earners and support staff across the practice, ensuring excellent client service is delivered at all times.

You will have experience gained from working in a busy legal cashiering role and should also possess the relevant attributes and experience outlined below:
