Janet Ford


Job Role

Janet Ford has practised Family Law since 2001, initially as a Paralegal and then as a Solicitor, after qualifying in 2012.

Janet has a wealth of experience in all areas of Family Law. She has represented parents, extended family members, local authorities, and children's guardians in private and public proceedings. This includes children's act matters that involve domestic abuse, parental alienation, and other social issues.

Janet also has extensive experience in conducting cases that involve relocation. She has represented clients whose cases have been issued under the Hague Convention, as well as relocation within the UK.

Janet undertakes almost all of her own advocacy in order to provide clients with continuation of representation. However, she also has extensive contacts should it be necessary to instruct counsel.

Awards & Qualifications

Janet has worked and studied incredibly hard throughout the years. From graduating from university with her Bachelor of Law degree to qualifying as a solicitor, it is this determination that she brings to her cases that makes her such an asset to the Cygnet Law team. Janet is also a member of the Law Society's Children's Panel.

Janet's Interest's

Janet has a great love for animals; she enjoys spending her time outside of the office riding her two horses, Shadow and Josie. She also cares for and loves to walk her two labradors, Teddie and Bobby.

Janet also enjoys travelling and meeting with her sister Ruth on her adventures. Her sister has spent most of her adult life in the United States, and as a result, Janet has visited and toured the US and other countries extensively.
